2016 Platinum Passholder Benefits

Not that it will stop me from renewing, but not having Maverick for early entry sucks. I hope this is revised.

Maverick is a marquee attraction, and it is low capacity. Like many others said, most of my rides this past season came during early entry.

I get that it was down a lot this year, but it seemed a lot of it was due to seat belts locking up. Its a complex ride but not on the same level of TTD. No Maverick for early entryis a bummer, if true. I hope we a jumping at shadows.

Looks like Maverick was put back on the list, according to the benefits page:

" Enter the park one hour before the general public to ride Tiki Twirl, Cadillac Cars, Cedar Downs, Dodgem, Valravn, Millennium Force, Maverick, GateKeeper, Midway Carousel and the 11 rides of Kiddie Kingdom. "

Great to hear. Figured Skyhawk was accidentally put on there.

Now if we can get Raptor added to the list all will be well.

Mavericks downtime was A LOT more complicated than seat belts locking up.

^I can confirm that. At least the downtime during HalloWeekends

True. My girl and I got delayed during early entry on the last weekend due to it not getting out of the launch tunnel.

I don't have any inside knowledge at all, so maybe it did have a rough year mechanically. It seemed from my limited observation to be stuck in the station a lot this year due to someone not being able to get out due to a stuck belt.

Could you possibly provide some info into what you mean?

PS Im not trying to be snarky, I know how these boards can get some times.

Unfortunately, we're not allowed to disclose exactly what was wrong, but it was a lot more than just seat belts not unlocking.

Bummer that Iron Dragon is not early entry, I guess my son and I will have to find some other suitable rides to spend the hour on before Blue Streak opens at 10:00. We used to do one ride on Ocean Motion, then 4 or 5 rides on ID, then head over to Blue Streak for first ride.He likes Dodgem, so maybe Cedar Downs, Dodgem, & Tiki Twirl (yuk).

Can you tell us if the problem was fixed at the end of the season or do you expect some more trouble at the beginning of next season?

Only maintenance can guarantee the issues to be fixed. I mean they have from now until opening day to get things figured out so who knows. I'm hoping Wicked Twister doesn't have as much downtime as it did this past season too. But it all started during closing weekend 2014. It still had a very rough season. Never have I seen Twister have that much down time since its first season.

The park really seems to be weighing where to try and pare down the benefits for platinum pass holders and all-season dining plans.

Not sure if this is a cost-savings measure associated with the benefits or if its planning to directly increase revenues, or a mixture of both.

There may also be a decision to weigh the benefits provided to pass holders with the revenues the park gets from providing them and how many renewals they'd lose trimming them.

I think its clear the park would like to see Halloweekends (now called Fall Season, as there now seems to be two distinct seasons in the parks view) as an upcharge at all parks. I can see why, attendance for Fall weekends is insane and paring it down might actually help along with providing additional revenues.

They have also been scaling back hotel discounts substantially, which is understandable when demand is already high.

All-Season dining limits (maybe soon to be Regular Season Dining) seems to be testing at other parks for chain rollout as well.

ERT nights have been scaled back from prior years, and grouped together- probably to save payrolls as there is probably little additional revenue to be derived from them.

Early Entry- reportedly this year has pretty much become regular opening time for anyone regardless of pass holder or resort guest status.

The food options for dining plan at CP still remain almost inedible, if not just outright bad for you. However it is better than having to pay $15 for bad food/service.

With the probable removal of Challenge Park ride/s more benefits are gone.

The games discount changed last year as well.

I think this trending will continue and they are just going to see how it plays out with the pass holder which benefits are worthy for them to keep.

Maybe an A La Carte Tiered Platinum Pass program could become an option, and you could pay for the benefits that you want.

New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing more of a tiered system for passes. Other parks have sliver, gold, platinum etc. Ouimet is a Disney alum and you see what they do with their passes. However, I would still like to see a Platinum or (platinum plus) option that still gives "free" season long admission to all properties, including events like the Haunt.

And with dining, I'm still hoping the park sees the value in a upcharge to add "free" drinks to the dining pass that does NOT include a souvenir cup. I hate the cup, mostly due to the fact you are not allowed to take it onto ride platforms. Even if the beverage on the plan was a smaller 12 or 16 oz. size compared to the larger cups I would be okay with it.

^ I'm with you on that drink add-on. I would pay $50 for it.

Has the fry deal disappeared as well? I didn't see it listed under passholder benefits. This saddens me that they keep removing it, then adding it back in when enough people complain about it. I loved that deal!!

I agree. I liked having Iron Dragon open early. It's a nice relaxing way to start the morning. I guess you all will see me riding the Cadillac cars by myself on your way to Valravyn... Unless Dragon pulls a Maverick (hint hint)

It's still listed.

Maybe, I missed it somewhere, but I am trying to confirm if Cedar Point also scrapped its Fast Lane upgrade offering that it gave to Platinum Pass holders. I'd assume that they did since they added Valravn for 2016, but I did not want to just go off of that and hence pay the additional $25 per person for the upgrade if I did not have to.

For those who were not familiar, those with Platinum Season Passes could get the Fast Lane Plus at the Fast Lane regular price. Of course, CP was the only on in the chain (that I know of) that offered that. Since we live in metro Atlanta, we tend to buy Fast Lane when we come up if it is on the weekends!

If I overlooked the answer to this somewhere, please accept my apologies!

I thought I remember seeing that on their list of 100 reasons to get a season pass, but I'm not seeing it anymore. I can't say I'd be surprised if they did eliminate it due to Valravn.

They did had it listed as 85 but has changed 85 to something else. I do have a screenshot of it saying it though.
