Best location for a relocated Ripcord...

^ I like your 1st point pavilion layout the best and think some of the trees behind the JA Theater could be removed to bring your layout down a little east toward the front gate.

As for the spot between Ocean Motion and Pink's, as much as I'd like to see a few new flat rides going there, I don't see any problem with the park relocating the current Point Pavilion and erecting a new structure for group sales in that area. The current PP structure sitting to the left of Raptor looks sorely outdated and just seems to be a loitering area for seagulls currently. If Ripcord has to stay in the park, I think CP needs to give some consideration to these sites. Otherwise....ship Ripcord over to the new Sports Complex.

I like the behind Toft's location option best, unused space and should look nice there.

For the point pavilion/raptor option, you could possibly relocate the bathrooms and put it in that raptor exit plaza. Put the arch right up next to the midway, then riders would fly over the midway and might not lose any of the pavilion. But that seems kinda jammed in there and relocating bathrooms ain't cheap.

For the MF option, don't forget that trapezoid in front of the arch can be midway (at least most of it). It just has to be clear enough for the flyers to go overhead. You could possibly scooch the lift towers back closer to the rails or even on the other side of them. Or angle it a bit differently to have the lift towers more in the grassy area between MF after the final turn and the rails, with the arch sending the flyers more in the direction of the railroad crossing then shown in the image posted. So that option could work without affecting the midway.

Just thought of something that might nix the MF option: dangling over a coal-powered steam engine and then flying through a cloud of exhaust might not be so pleasant...

Sticking this eyesore anywhere near MF would just be an aesthetic travesty and an unnecessary complication of an already crowded midway.

It's not going there.

I Totally Agree DEMOLISH IT. If they took out the SKYSCRAPER; take the RIPCORD out so there will be more parking around the area.

I wouldn't really call it an eyesore. It's just a giant tower. Looks like a regular ride in CP. It's not some random warehouse.

Where it currently sits I wouldn't call it an eyesore. However, put it anywhere near the main midway or close to Gatekeeper and it instantly becomes and out of place eyesore that will take away from how great they have that area looking right now.

It looks a lot like Slingshot and I wouldn't call Slingshot an eyesore. That's right on the Gemini midway. Once they move it I am sure they will git it some new paint.

Big difference, slingshot has a footprint the size of a bathroom and didn't require them razing everything in an area larger than a soccer pitch.

Yeah, but that's because Slingshot is a bright blue with some neon green.

A gigantic black structure just plopped near the main midway would look way out of place.

And that's the problem. I just don't see anywhere in the park, especially the front of the park, where the aesthetic that they've tried to create isn't at least a little tarnished by having RipCord randomly placed there. There would have to be a good rhyme or reason for that to happen, in my opinion. And I kinda just don't see it.

I know putting it in the former STR site is considered taboo, but it could utilize that pond to create a nice presentation while still leaving plenty of room to access a future ride on Milly Island.

I also did image of the near Gemini idea. It would require relocation or loss of a long shed that looks kinda temporary (parade floats??). Slingshot would be in that former grassy area between Gemini and the bathrooms. Which would put the 2 tower rides right on the same line of sight - not ideal.

Are you suggesting that it's beyond CF's capabilities to paint and/or add a lighting package to Ripcord?

You can put lipstick on a pig....

Sticking it Anywhere that has already been reimagined it will most likely look look like its out of place.

SFP is where I believe it would fit best, other than that next to ocean motion in the old mini midway behind Tofts could work in the park.

Ooh! Ooh! I know! Let's put it on the million dollar midway in front of the train station - and at night, we can put a screen on it and have a laser show.

Does anybody know what happened to Skyscraper? That was one of my favorite rides, along with Ripcord.

I think it went to the scrapyard.

I like the second option. Maybe they could put up a sign for both Gemini one way and Ripcord the other way. Maybe for the first time, they'll allow guests to cut thru certain parts of Gemini to get to Ripcord.

Lotsa Palooza is closed, the three point challenge is no longer there. That area is fenced/gated off with the closed store inside the fenced area..

Even better then! Nothing significant even needs to be removed to make way for it! Obviously, I haven't gone back there in a number of years, as I didn't realize that stuff was gone. Putting Ripcord there would at least give some point and purpose to what is currently a worthless part of the park. Oh, and also, I just realized you had suggested this location earlier in the thread, and I somehow had overlooked it! lol Nice to see somebody else on the same page, though!

My first choice would still be to work it in back next to Slingshot and Gemini, either as a precursor to a new connecting midway, or as a standalone addition, just past the bathrooms. A few things in the P&D area would have to be moved around, but it seems the main building could stay put, even with Ripcord in there. I'm just not sure how "attractive" being on it and swinging will be, if there's still a dingy building, and a bunch of "junk" lying around, however.

A thrill ride made of structural steel would look out of place among 360 acres of thrill rides made mostly of structural steel?

Maybe aesthetically, but how much revenue is it going to generate at SFP?
