Playlist for Cedar Point Shores

If management hasn't selected this years playlist for Cedar Point Shores, would it be possible to bring back the "Beach Boys" music and the song 'Wipe Out"? I remember that from when I was a kid, they had it at Soak City.

I'll just say I preferred the music from WWK to what was played at Soak City. Especially that they played songs about saying goodbye at closing time it was a nice touch.

What did they have at WWK?

It's best for me to explain it as more of a Caribbean style. Very relaxing and enjoyable while sipping on a Long Island by the wave pool

It would fit the theme better. I wasn't a fan of them playing the top hit songs from the radio. It just didn't feel right.

Has anyone heard what the new playlist for CP Shores will be? I'm hoping for Beach Boys, " Wipe Out" and summer music.

Didn't you ask that on May 11? I'm not sure anyone here would know.
But please, god, no Beach Boys.

Mixture of of genres and time periods but stuff that sounded summery...and at close they would play songs about goodbye situations.

Why don't you want it to be Beach Boys? Just curious.

Because they have been played to death.

Since 1961 to death.

But they are so good though, imo.

I agree, The Beach Boys never get old. Especially on a hot sunny day :)

I could go with never hearing The Beach Boys ever again and be perfectly happy.

I think the park has been doing a great job on the CP playlists, getting more uptempo as the night progresses. The only think that I think they don't do very well is the entire FUNTV in the queues (I mostly pay little attention to it at all anymore). But I understand they have demographics that they target and that generational change is inevitable, I don't expect them to cater to my particular music tastes.

It's very refreshing not hearing the same soundtrack year after year after year. And as always you can listen to whatever you want anywhere in the park with your own playlist of your choosing.

^ I agree, it is refreshing to hear them change the soundtracks for various rides/areas yearly, even seasonally such as Halloweekends. Last year I was surprised to hear some 70's 80's harder edged rock "hits" on Super Himalaya of all rides. Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin.

Last Sunday early entry while at Valravn I heard an old classic from the 70's American top 40 days; Rock the Boat by Hues Corp.. They probably chose it due to the proximity to the Marina.

I never cared much for the Beach Boys but I can't think of any other group that when you listen to them it just speaks "summertime".

^^^ As long as it's between songs that are more uptempo I could eal with that once in a while although I would much prefer Vivaldi...I will listen to almost anything as long as it's mixed up enough with other genres for me to not be irritated with it for more than one or two songs in a row.

They play old songs in the Maverick Queue, 70s mostly. The first time I heard Abba's "Take a Chance on Me" was there. The music and video was creepy at first because what 70s music video isn't? Now it's not so bad and I think the video is kind of funny. I actually like that song now.
