2018 Platinum Pass

So I am heading to Kings Dominion this summer during the week. Does anyone know if that park is busy on lets say a Wednesday? I kinda of assume it is not as bust as CP?

We did the same last year, and will likely be repeating it. We went on Wednesday and Thursday of July, and everything was a complete walk-on, including Intimidator and Volcano. Mind you it was ferociously hot (about 98 degrees during a heat wave), but I also spoke to several of the folks working there, and according to them the park is traditionally very lightly populated during the week but completely slammed on the weekends.

In other words, going during the week at Kings Dominion is a great idea.

Promoter of fog.

Awesome that would be wonderful. I will plan for July! haha

I definitely would like to make a Kings Island trip maybe as early as May. Whatever is lowest attendance is preferable. Having longer hours like I'm sure it would be in July/August would be nice but I would prefer a walk-on kind of day too. But if weekdays in the busiest months aren't bad there, I might go.

Sacrificing playing video games to ride roller coasters.

Yeah Tuesday - Thursday at KI are the best times to go. Weekends are ungodly busy.

I second the weekday advice on KD... Went on a Tuesday & Thursday and our only wait was Volcano...

Also looking for first ki visit since 2002. Will try to go in June this year so midweek will have to do. Hopefully they’re not busy if I hear otherwise maybe we’ll try carowinds or Canada’s wonderland instead.

Hahahaha Charlotte or Toronto is pretty long drive from Cincinnati for a Plan B if Kings Island is busy...

No kids, good job, can do whatever we want pretty much. But ill decide plan b weeks in advance, not going to just arrive at ki and say "no today"

If only someone would invent a way to travel faster than driving...
And it would be really cool, if they came up with some kind of reward program that let you use these reward points for free travel....

Well they have.... it's called an airplane.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

As far as crowd sizes on different days, I hit KD on the Saturday after the 4th of July in 2016 just to kill time while on my 14 day amusement park tour. I figured I would need to come back on Sunday to actually get any riding in...Turns out, the only ride with a wait was Volcano. On the Saturday after the 4th of July, I-305 had a 20 minutes or less wait all day. Of the 14 parks on hit on that trip, the only park that had any crowds riding the rides was Canada's Wonderland. Probably because it's proximity to one of the largest cities near an amusement park that I attended AND it was the only park that wasn't in the mid 90's during that time. Most parks had full water parks though. Even Fury 325, the day before going to KD, had only a wait that was on the stairs.

BTW, at least in 2016, Fury had the most efficient ride-ops I've ever seen. Many times, the train left the station and had to wait at the lift hill for the train on the course to hit whatever point it needed to allow the waiting train to go onto the lift...ALL parks should train their employees to be like that crew.

Last year I went on the Saturday before 4th of July, and it was totally dead. The longest wait was actually 15 mins for Anaconda. I305 had a 2 train wait all day. Volcano was down, though.

CP Top 5: 1) Steel Vengeance 2) Maverick 3) Magnum 4) Raptor 5) Millennium

Help! I'm trying to buy a Platinum Pass online and both browsers I've used won't work. I click on the Buy Now button but nothing happens. I've tried both Mozilla and IE. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I just downloaded that and it worked! Thanks! We are all set!

Do you save the processing fee by just renewing it over the phone?

The price goes up after tonight. You would probably just be better off renewing online and paying the processing fee than waiting until tomorrow to renew over the phone.

So can I go up at anytime to pick up my new season pass? Are they open during the week to pick up passes so we don't have to wait on out first trip?

The season pass center opens about 2 weeks before the park opens.
