Top Thrill Dragster 2022 Status

Personally I just don’t see the need for CP to have a drop tower. They aren’t anything special and every time I’ve been in recent memory the number of people actually riding it has been….. lackluster to say the least.

The marketing can be, "Cedar Point! Fashioning the park around SpeedDemon's Internet desires since 2023!"

If someone doesn't have the mental competence to locate a forum, probably better that they don't try to engage in communication with folks who aren't limited by a single digit IQ.

I left this site over a decade ago as a high schooler because I felt like I was more mature than some of the adults on here. I recently decided to rejoin in order to participate in the discussion on what Dragster might become and the same clowns are somehow even more insufferable this time around. It's a lot of work to suck the fun out of talking about amusement parks, but sheesh you're good at it.

Nailed it.

You are always free to contribute to the fun of talking about amusement parks rather than complaining that there's not enough occurring.

Online communities are only as good as what you contribute to them. Thanks for the lecture.

Dude, you are absolutely right! Hell of a callout.

I guess you would agree then that’s why 95% of the conversations are the same 10 people because of people are sick of the garbage contributions from guys like you two? Coasterbuzz being a shell of its former self sure seems to agree as well. Keep driving this bad boy into the ground, fellas!

Ooh! Can I be one of the 10?
Man, I just hate it when the po-po turn up though.

High-five! Traffic is up again this year, as it has been for the last several. In fact, this forum it's a staggering 35% compared to last year (though ad revenue is down 35%, because I refuse to do all of the video nonsense). People have been predicting the death of the sites for two decades now, and they seem to keep coming back to remind us. Thank you for the concern.

Entitlement isn't a good look for people who use something without cost, but that seems to be the way the Internet goes now.

You don't have to ad hominem every single person on the site. It would make speculation more fun.

This is true. And cutting people down and insulting them makes for poor discussion and adds very little, hence the criticism.

We can speculate and have fun without cutting people down. I have a very similar experience to speed 104. We can criticizes peoples ideas without ad hominem. (The excuse of this is the internet people are going to be mean is a weak argument. That's usually the go to around here).

argues just for clicks

I suspect you often confuse "disagreement on the Internet" with "cutting people down." Not responding to any specific scenario, but that's a generalization I've arrived at over the years.

This is mentally exhausting! Can we talk about puppies or boats or something else?

Jeff's avatar

Be careful not to let your puppy fall off of a boat because it may drown.

How dare you insinuate I’m so irresponsible that I would let a puppy drown, you meanie.

I didn't "ad hominem" anyone. I pointed out that a solution to someone disliking the conversation was to constructively add to it rather than complain about it. I argued against their position, not their character.

Cute puppies, dj, cute puppies!

To use a great quote from a man I didn't get the pleasure to meet, but was always great commenter and debater.

"I would rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,

than in the drink with my boat on the rocks"

Lets keep up good Debates, Comments and Speculations!

Ahhhhh C.P. My Happy Place!

djDaemon:

about exactly the footprint where Scrambler and the nacho stand were.

I’m trying to figure out where you put the queue if you drop a flat there. Between there and the building Melt is in is the access gate and little access road so cant go that way. Other side is the main midway and sky ride terminal so can’t go that way. Toward the main gate you have that airbrush booth a pathway and then the gift shops. And then toward Matterhorn former pad is the bathroom. Unless you are going to relocate those bathrooms to make way for a new queue which I think is most likely if you’re going to drop an oversized flat there.

Speed 104...

I know how you feel quite well. I usually get made fun of for any question or comment I make.

I even had a post deleted just because I said the colors on the Giant Wheel match the Pride flag.

They said it was inappropriate and I don't see why. I said nothing derogatory at all.

If the "10" on here made on-ride videos of coasters, they would probably talk the entire time

just to hear themselves.

Soooo...any new news with dragster?

Based on the thread here we may be headed for a more 'passive' aggressive thrill ride
