Any word or thought on a ride for 2006???

My last ride on Dragster was on August 7 of this year. That was my last trip to Cedar Point. Unfortunately I couldn't make it back up there again because of Finacial problems. I rode it like 3 times that day too, but my record is 4 times in one day.

Well while I was at the park today I noticed that half of the frontier town lockers have been removed. There are orange dots and lines in many places. There are stakes everywhere, and some say "ride line". There are survey pins, one of which is under a trash can by a tree near Town Hall. It looks as if the "ride" is going directly between Snake River Falls and CCMR. Looks like the entrance to Snake River Falls will have to be adjusted, because a couple of the stakes were near the queue. Looks like the old Frontier Town Lift building will be spared also.

Interesting, very interesting....

What is "interesting"? The talk of WWL being removed and new additions to the park has been going on for months.

Ah, my aching head.

I also noticed new markings by SRF. I'm going tomorrow as well, I will post some new pics then.

I was actually being sarcastic.

now if cedar point's new ride was a screamin' swing....why would we need it when we have maXair? They both give weightlessness but maXair spins... is there something that im missing?

Here are some pictures...not the greatest quality. They were taken Friday night. There is now a garbage can over the paint next to the grass in front of the museum. It's lined up 90 degrees from the "CP" (center point?) of ride that is at the entrance of the SRF queue.

Edited to add question mark to "center point" comment.

That isn't positively the center point of the project, just of the surveying.

Ok guys. It's looking like the SS is going between Snake River Falls and Cedar Creek Mine Ride. I got lots of new shots. I posted 19 new pictures by CCMR Exit and SRF Entrance, plus 10 new shots of the latest items to be delivered to the Soak City parking lot.

I was the first canoe of the last day of opperations. :) Farwell WWL.

Saw some more markings while riding WWL. Also saw more markings while riding CP&LE RR. Some of which were under the overbank turn of MF.

One of the pictures I took by CCMR Exit is difficult to make out, but while ridding CCMR I was able to see it better. It clearly reads "RIDE CONTROL" This was located directly to your left as you are exiting CCMR.

Over by SRF was another that reads "RIDE LINE"

I also attended Pod Cast #7. That was a pretty cool Q&A with Dick Kinzel. Jeff and the gang did a good job. :)

So we know we are getting something. We have a darn good idea of what it is. We have a general idea of where it is going. All we need now is the actual announcement.

I missed the podcast. I'll download it when it hits Cbuzz. Anything said that might give it away?

"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"

Seems so odd how many markers there are for a SS.

I don't think he said anything hinting at 2006, but he did mention how he knows how people love flumes and he said they were taking that into consideration with the removal of WWL.

Could the wood in the parking lot be for a construction wall for next year? WWL can be removed during the off season, however, will not give enough time to build the rumored coaster. There will just be a void space there next year and CP will most likely not let that large of an area open for an entire season without covering it up some how. As in most cities its good to see the progress of construction, however, it looks horrible. The treated wood will fit right in with the frontier theme. Behind the wall construction can continue for the huge coaster project every one is expecting.

It could be but its most likely for CCMR and replacing it. Who knows if theres more wood it would be for WWL wall. I'll miss that ride so much it was the only water ride my whole family love to ride. If anything we maybe hewaring the announement on November 1 for 06 attraction. Now we play the waiting game!~!

Those timbers are way to big for use as fencing. They're 2x6, 4x6, and 6x6's.

On your site Jason, under the section labeled "Shots of the Blue Tarp and other items delivered to the Soak City Parking Lot", the first and second picture show piles of plywood that could be used for a wall.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

That's what I was thinking. Those Pieces of Wood are big enough to be railroad ties. Which could be another thing that would could be for. Cedar Point might be fixing their railroad for next year. Maybe some of the wood needs replaced on the CP&LE railroad. As far as the wall for 06, You are not going to see the wall with the wood thats sitting in the parking lot. You'll see a thinner fence like the one they used when Dragster was being built, the summer of 2002. Hopefully they have a couple peak holes for people like us.
