Dinosaurs! >>>Good idea or really bad idea???

I take a bit of an offense to that Kevin (ok, not really...haha)

I'm 20 and aware that the world doesn't revolve around me.

In addition, I'm heading to the park in a few weeks with two other young ones (I'm not sure if I'd call us adolescents anymore because we are well aware of how the real world works and we aren't in high school) and we are actually looking forward to checking out "Dinosaurs Alive". As a matter of fact, each of us think its going to make a great addition. We may not go through it every time we're there, but I bet we'll check it out once or twice this season. On top of that, we're also going to check it out at Kings Island and Canada's Wonderland while we're at those parks as well to see how they're different.

Point is, if its lame or not (I don't necessarily think it'll be lame, but then again I like dinosaurs), people will be tempted either way to give it a shot and try it at least once. Therefore, I think its a great idea and will be a success.

I won't go into too much detail because some of you would probably want to experience it yourself. I got the chance to go through DA yesterday, I have three boys, their ages: 6, 3, and 1. The 6-year-old wondered what happened to the boat ride, but enjoyed the Dinosaurs. The 3-year-old loved it and enjoyed the interactive dinosaurs. The 1-year-old was there along for the ride. He was busy taking in everything and watching MF test.

It's very much geared towards the younger family and it was all nicely done. Is it worth the $5? YMMV. I have a feeling I'll be taking the 3-year-old through it a few more times this year. His excitement makes it worthwhile to me. Which is funny because I was very disappointed with Paddle Wheel's removal.

That's been my whole point the entire time. It may not be the most popular thing the park has done but seeing your kid light up is what makes it worth it.

Heck yes.

I'm not sure what all of you do, but this will be our Monday morning...(we're staying at Great Wolf next week)

We pile the 4 and 8 month old in the car, and really don't say anything to Kylah (the 4 year old) about where we are going, etc...

We pull up on the causeway.

Turn around (carefully...ha) and watch the 4 year old's face as she realizes where we are.

Trip = success.

Kevinj, that's the best part! Watching our 5yr old twins flip out as soon as we can see the park! I act like I can't see it and look in the wrong direction, so they are in the back, yelling, screaming, laughing and pointing to where it is. :). My wife videos the kids reaction each year as we drive up. Good times and memories!

I think taking this attracting out offers many possibilities because then Terror Island can be back in its greatest location for a haunted house and also bring back Paddle Boat attraction. I think Terror Island was made to be there and I think they should take out Dinosaur Alive and put back Terror Island in its rightful and greatest location I think id every be in. Plus where Pirates Cove sits they have possibilities to make a new walk through scare zone which can be great. In my eyes 2011 was the best year for Cedar Point because they had Terror Island and Toy Factory no word on that either but Terror Island and Carn Evil would always have amazing battles for my favorite haunted house which was convenient because they were right next to each other. I really want Terror Island back so please take this as a note Cedar Point and you have been doing hard work and congrats to all the work :)!

I agree with you 110% to the poster!

I think you need to say Terror Island more.

I don't really think that, nor do I think the Dinosaurs being where they are is a bad thing. I just think the $5 charge is completely ridiculous.

True, true but I think they shouldn't focus on making new rides but bringing back the old ones would be special and that area has lots of possibilities so I wouldn't take out the possibilities of them removing it because every time I walk by there it has no business and lacks people so its by now doing bad business wise so if they take it out they bring back the great memories in 2011 and then presto its back! :)

I think we found someone who wants Terror Island to come back even more than I do. :)

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I go to Halloweekends every Friday and Saturday so it was one of my most favorites I go with my dad and are you a screamster at pirates cove?

Maverick - "The West Was Never This Wild"

Back to the topic I think Dinos Alive was a average idea but versus Terror Island which one got more business for surely but Dino Alive did get people in 2012 because it was the first year and I don't blame a person who cant say its bad without trying the attraction which I did try it out only once but I never had any choice about coming back due to payment but now in the year of 2013 they have been dead and every time I go bye there its always a ghost town. Terror Island gave people enjoyment every time they went through no payment needed and all you needed to do was bring your bravery due to the location great location that gave you the Pirate Adventure feel made you feel good and made the screamsters enjoy the environment and you could tell every time that you went through that all of the screamsters were very happy and joyful. In 2014 this is the year I hope that the Dinos go extinct even though it was a good idea they shouldn't tear down something that was very awesome and yet sometimes made a persons day:)

Plus to add even more Terror Island was an attraction that brought people back every year after year. Dino Alive only had some people 1 year only!

Terror Island years it got business

2008, 2009, 2010, 2011

^And your info supporting this. I saw lots of people going into DA, including either big families, or school stuff, not sure I didn't care to look.

I don't like Dinos, but I'm not the target market. The market I'm in is the thrills, speed, airtime, booze, live e with hot chicks doing cool stunts group.

Not the come learn and be amazed and fascinated by cool animatronics group. If you would have gotten to me middle school years, oh sure, but not now. I'd rather grab a blue moon and hit some coasters.

Corkscrew, Power Tower, Magnum, & Monster/ Witches Wheel Crew 2011

In the summer I go for the thrills and in the fall I go for the haunted houses! :)

Plus what year did you go? If you went 2012 I understand but if you went 2013 I saw it dead every day I go at least 15 - 20 days in the summer and in the fall I go 15 times so you must have went in 2012.

I go every year xD. Well until next year...Ah well I'll be in paradise for two years.

Regardless if you went 20 days in the summer and 15 in the fall, that's 35 days out of it's 180 or so days, that's a big difference.

Again though, neither of us are the target market, of course we're not going to like it. But everything isn't about us. We have plenty world class coasters, thrill rides, and amazing atmosphere. DA is geared towards children, people interested in Dinos, and education. All three of which I'm not interested in..

Again..blue moons...not dinos

everything looks right but this because I go a couple times each month so I know how crowded it is each month

Top popular month crowded
1.August

2.July

3.October

4.June

5.September

6.May

Did you do the stunts extreme if you did then that's amazing and congratulations:)

Maverick - "The West Was Never This Wild"

If you think taking out the DA is a bad idea well look what they are making right next to it a couple new rides GEARED TO KIDS. So its just the more reason to take it out because if a kid has a choice to ride a new ride like the eagle wing or the disc one he would do that then rather than pay.
