Fast Lane is coming to the park

It doesn't work, because it comes down to who has the fatter wallet then who actually is waiting for luck.

This is how things work. Want to go to the movies? You can do so for probably close to $5/person. Oh, you want to go when it's busy? That'll be closer to $10/person. Want to go to a baseball game? You can probably do so for $25/person. Oh, you want to sit closer to the action, or watch a popular matchup? That'll be closer to $100/person. Want to eat at a nice restaurant? You can probably do so for around $10/person. Oh, you want to eat at that restaurant on Friday night, rather than Tuesday afternoon? That'll be closer to $20/person.

This is how supply & demand works, and it's not new or unique to paid FOL access.

And frankly, when visiting one of the premier amusement parks on the planet, if your primary objective is to get a rollback on TTD, you're doing it wrong. :)

I'm also doing it wrong then. :)

It's only one of the Primary Objectives of the day, and only is on certain opening conditions. (cold days, some rain earlier in the morning, dragster warm ups are terrible)

Got my rollback waiting for Dragster to open when it was having problems warming up. Waited about 20-30 past park opening. Well Worth the wait.

I can see this being attractive to a family like mine where there are multiple age groups. If I take my oldest on a coaster, I don't want to have to leave my wife with the younger kids for two hours while we stand in line. It gives the families like mine greater flexibility and more together time.

Switchback Railway

-A billion jillion million (and 1) rides on Schwabinchen (8 counterclockwise)

Is this definitely happening then? I can't see it on their website!

Yes it's happening, just not posted on their website yet. It's on other parks websites.

so - dya reckon it'll be needed on june 13th?

How does it work then? alloted times? virtual queuing?

Go here, click on the "Fast Lane" tab. That describes the process and should give you an idea of the cost once FL is available at CP.

Brandon

They just posted the pricing and rides available. http://www.cedarpoint.com/what-s-new/fast-lane

I thought there would be more rides. Kings Island has 24 rides for Fast Lane, Cedar Point has 16. Not that's it's a competition, I just though CP would have more than it does.

I'm surprised that neither Iron Dragon or Disaster Transport are listed. Due to their 46" height requirement, they tend to both get a good amount of families with smaller kids.

I'm sure that some of the rides that did not get them, there was no way of putting in a separate line or it was too costly.

From what my Supervisor has said is Fast Lane will have no merge points, they will lead directly to the platform. Also that the exits are not for Fast Lane use.

^One coaster that comes to mind there is Wicked Twister. I thought that would have Fast Lane but it would be tough with the queue configuration.

Maverick's single rider line will probly be gone now.

WHY DOES MEAN STREAK HAVE A FAST LANE?

Who is up for a Cadillac Car takeover? Seriously though, any idea of the limited number of Fast Lane tickets sold per day?

I guess there will be some more entertainment waiting in line this year, hearing all the bitching going on. Everyone book your Halloweekend Saturdays now! :)

That Fast Lane ride list is kind of silly. I only see 4-5 rides on there that need it, and plenty of rides left off that do need it.

For example, Mantis, Wicked Twister, Disaster Transport, Skyhawk, and Wildcat need Fast Pass more than Shoot the Rapids, Dodgem, Corkscrew, Gemini, and Blue Streak.

I guess they didn't want to include the lower capacity rides because of more possible Fast Lane issues.

JW: The Fast Lane program just announced for CP appears to be identical to Kings Island's at this point. For the record, Kings Island's Fast Lane & Fright Lane never sold out at any point, even though they really pushed how limited it was. People were reporting Fast Lane waits of 45+ minutes and KI still selling the passes over on KI Central during the busiest days last year. Hopefully this changes.

Has anybody looked at the comments on their Facebook page? The GP is hating this. I have to agree with them about some stuff though, it was nice that Cedar Fair was the only chain to not offer virtual queue passes.

What were the merge points like at Kings Island last year? Did Fastlane take you straight to the platform or did it merge more like the old stamp style fastlane that cedar point experimented with in the past?

Fast Lane took you straight to the platform at KI when I used it, and it was awesome (though felt a bit wrong). It started pouring down rain, so Flight of Fear completely filled up, with ride ops claiming a 2 hour wait. With my group of 6 (This was one of the first days of the most recent version of the program, so hardly anyone bought Fast Passes), they let us pick any seats on the train before permitting the other guests to enter the station.

After getting off the ride, they arranged a short cut right back to the station, again holding the line until we picked our seats (obviously the very front). We could have kept grabbing the front seat every single train until the park closed, which didn't seem right. We only rode it 3 times in a row before calling it a night. While Fast Pass was well worth the price on my visit, I think the system needed more restrictions.
