Fast Lane

On CP's website they show that you can electronically purchase FL for Fridays during Halloweekends.

You can, but you wont need it since the lines are always really really short

^Thanks davidw! I can't wait to see what they've done with it... I heard they were doing some re-arranging

Trying too hard, dude. Don't force the humor--let it ooze out of you, somewhat like bad Taco Bell on hangover morning.

I don't have to try! This lack of humor comes naturally!

Ironically, that got a chuckle out of me...

I apologize if this has been covered before... but how long is the longest wait normally with Fast Lane?

I plan on using it next Saturday, and I know that Saturdays for Halloweekends are usually some of the busiest days for the park... what can I expect as far as wait times for the big 3? Longer than 30min?

It all depends. It is hard to tell day to day and hour by hour the wait.

Best guess is the max wait may be around 30 for Maverick.

I still stand by all my earlier statements that if any fast lane waits are anywhere near 30 minutes, they've sold way too many of them. I'd rather have fewer passes sold, even if they cost a few bucks more.

Heck, I won't wait 30 minutes for anything without a fast lane, but admittedly I am spoiled.

Mav's line was terrible on saturday. We waited in the regular line, and we only moved up one queue and 20 mins had passed by. The fast lane had about 50 people in it standing over under the station. This caused our line to move extremely slow. So we left. It is stating to get annoying now, with more people buying FL. I hope CP doesn't plan on using this for another 20 years or so.

Hoping it will go away is a wasted use of hope.

Hoping they will improve or change it to be more like six flags or disneys system is more realistic, but still unlikely knowing CF.

Are the fast lanes open during early entry?

No. Thank goodness for that.

No. And in fact sometimes you will see people waiting in the FL line for it to open up, while people are walking on in the regular line.

Is FL even necessary during Early Entry?

Brandon

Earlier this summer everything was a walk-on at the start of early entry. A line forms very quickly for MF and fast lane would make a difference there if it were available. TTD which sometimes seems to be open for unofficial early riding was always a walk-on in my experience.

The lines are definitely much longer after regular opening hours, but FL would make some waits shorter. Even so, I'm glad they don't have it during early entry--and I say that as someone who would pay for FL on any busy day.

I was there this past Saturday, September 29, and utilized Fast Lane. We got there a few minutes after 12pm (park opening for non-resort guests). The weather was sunny and 65 degrees. In other words, the park was the most crowded I've ever seen it in the 7 visits I've made over the past 9 years. I realize the OP likely already visited, but I wanted to post this for future reference.

Here's my rundown of wait times (calculated as getting into a seat. Knock off about 5 minutes for each ride for just making it into the station) throughout the day.

Millennium Force: 10-20 minutes (regular queue: 1.5-2 hours most of the day). The location of the back of the Fast Lane line varied from about the bottom of the stairs leading into the station to about 30 feet behind that point. The 20 minute wait was toward the beginning of the day. The rest of the day (after 4-5pm) we generally didn't wait longer than 10 minutes.

Maverick: 10-20 minutes (regular queue: 1.5-2 hours most of the day). The Fast Lane line on Maverick was highly variable. At one point it was nearly to the entrance of the Fast Lane queue, but 30 minutes later it was all the way at the stairs.

Dragster: 20 minutes (regular queue: 1.5-2 hours). Both times we rode this, we joined the line at the beginning of the split, and we typically had a 3 or 4 train wait once we actually entered the station.

Gemini: one-train wait. (regular queue: 30-45 minutes). We only rode this once so I don't know if the Fast Lane queue was ever long.

Magnum: less than 10 minutes (regular queue 30-45 minutes). They control the number of people in the station, and there were never any fast lane people in front of us at the merge point of standby and fast lane riders (which is at the last turn of the queue before heading up the stairs). The point where you join the standby line is no more than 10 minutes to get on a train.

Mean Streak: 5 minutes (regular queue 30 minutes). We rode once and had no Fast Lane riders ahead of us as we entered the station. But they don't control people entering the station so we had 2 or 3 train wait at that point.

Mantis: 15-20 minutes (regular queue early in the day when we rode was 45-60 minutes). The merge point is somewhat of a distance from the station (right as you start walking on the bridges over the water), which contributes to a bit of a longer wait for this even if there are no other Fast Lane riders ahead of you.

Raptor: 5 minutes (regular queue: 30-60 minutes). We rode this once right when we got to the park around 12:30, and again right before we left at about 11:30. Both times, we merged immediately with the general line right as you walk up the stairs into the station. No other Fast Lane riders were ahead of us at the merge point on both rides.

We considered Fast Lane to be WELL worth the money. We flew in from out of town and probably would have gotten maybe 6 rides in if we were lucky, had we not bought Fast Lane. We spoke to someone in line as we boarded a train on Millennium Force around 5pm, and he said he'd been there since 1pm and this was his second ride (Raptor was his first). By that time, we'd ridden almost everything once and were beginning to do re-rides. Over the course of the whole day, we got about 25 different rides (which includes multiple rides on the same ride) whereas most non-Fast Lane riders were lucky if they got 6 in. Just to ride Dragster, Millennium Force, and Maverick would set you back six hours. Whether they've sold too many is debatable. I for one didn't mind waiting 10-20 minutes when the standby line exceeded 90 minutes, and I felt it was well worth the expense.

In all of my rides, they metered the number of people from Fast Lane who could enter the station (except for Dragster, where generally the front train was all Fast Lane riders). They took about 8 people from the Fast Lane line every couple minutes, it appeared.

Hope this helps anyone planning to go over the next few weekends.

Simple and to the point! No pun intended.

There is no, absolutely no reason, for Fast lane Passes, other than straight out greed! Damn, if Me or my children will pay to go to CP park, wait in line, just so other people who paid more money, can get on over and over and make us keep waiting!!!

CP, will go down hill if they keep this practice. I have heard they have been hiring hoodlums and low life's there any way. A fight broke out at 3am of all employees, 16 got arrested, one for assaulting a police officer! Other parks around the nation have been getting tons of complaints about FL, watch and see!

If your greedy, then u like Fl, That simple! Get my point, No point for me anymore, pun intended!

I'm sure it's just coincidence that your user name and the subject of your first post are the same.

Way to add value to the conversation with your insightful analysis. I didn't know I was greedy, or, that I sucked.
