Mystery Construction

Who cares who does what, we might be looking at new construction of a new ride next year!! Let's have fun with it like we all have in the past. Speculation is fun and I think it is really fun once T&T tease us.

^ I agree.

Reading some of the other posts in this category got me thinking. Since some of you think this land clearing has something to do with Halloweekends, maybe they're putting a stationary haunted house ride there that will be there the whole season. Keep the haunted festivities alive year-round! I'd be fine with that (as you may have read in my other post earlier)! hahahaha. KEEP THE IDEAS COMING!!!

At least someone agrees with me to keep this topic on track!!

Even though I would highly doubt it as a reality, that would be a great location for a permanent haunted house attraction...(and you could easily theme that towards Frontier Land). I know many people here would agree that it would be nice for CP to get some sort of dark ride/walkthrough attraction. It would fit a "family friendly" mold as well.

I personally think that would be a great place to relax. I know i would enjoy sitting in the middle of millies turn around and just sit. There would not be that many people walking around if its a path.

I don't think it would be "family friendly" though. CP is usually always looking for thrills. Stepping into a spooky old haunted house ride/attraction would definitely get people's adrenaline going! If they're going to invest in something new, they're gonna make sure they get their moneys worth and make it a HUGE popularity symbol. So therefore if this were to happen, it wouldnt be a fun house for children. I mean, there is hardly anything for small children to go in during Halloweekends and that only lasts for several weeks. I dont think they would spend a ton of money on something kiddie like for a horror attraction. They would make sure it scares the living daylights out of people if anything. But once again, this will probably not happen anyways! :(

Im not trying to add anything to conspiracy theories but has anyone noticed that the funcam is also down?

The ghost strikes again. First a missing Dragster Cam, then a missing post, now the missing funcam. What next! Maybe a certain tin-can on the beach or a certain ride with the lake slime water.

The ghost of the green train haunts again. Look what it did to Twister and to all those poor trees.

Maybe the web cams are donw because they don;t want you to see the trucks dropping off material for the new 500 footer coming in 2010.

They were taking that lumber from the back to the front, not the other way around.

DJ that's what I was saying.

And I am going to say that I doubt it is going to be a haunted house, but you never know.

Edit: Oh, and has anybody realized yet that Millenium Island is in the very middle of the Pagoda cam shot?

That they're starting early doesn't mean it will be "very big" (whatever that means). They can't easily gain access to the island during the season (so long as they keep PWE running), so its logical to do as much site prep in inaccessible areas now,

Actually, I think the floating bridge they have to access the island is pretty easy to set up. At least it seems that way to me just by looking at it, you just have to float it into the right position. They can easily get materials across to the island before the park opens. Any really heavy equipment can be put in place before the season opens and just left there to use during the summer.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I'm going on record saying that it's the new flume ride for 2010, footers will be in before the end of the season, and SRF will be a ghost before the winter.

Eurofighter or dive machine.....

OR THE BIGGEST LEMON CHILL STAND IN THE PARK!

CP had its chance with a log flume in 09. I don't want a log flume anymore, I was already expecting a coaster in 2010, now I want 2.......

If this turns out to be prep work for a new coaster, then it's a great marketing strategy for 2009 to counter the fact that are no new attractions... allows the public to get excited about the construction for 2010. If this turns out to be a coaster, I'm hoping for wood, with the station along the Frontier Trail. I know, I know...too early to be talking specifics, but it's been awhile for us coaster diehards.

Just wanted to say, no matter how shiny, high tech, or detailed they could make a haunted house, it wouldn't even come close to being as scary as the one at Beech Bend. :)

And as for the idea, I agree with the statement that it would be nice to have just a relaxing area where you could sit down. Granted, I'd rather keep Paddlewheel Excursions since I think it has a lot of character.

And I personally think the area they picked for the webcam is always a lively place in the park, and nothing more...is that allowed? :P

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

well, im sorta new to all of this construction stuff, but if this is a ride, is this early to start construction? Could the early clearing mean that it's more than likely a coaster?

^I agree. This is my first year posting here and such. What did CP do with Maverick?(how long did it take to construct). It makes sense that would clear trees now and possibly construct again after the 09 season, but the scenario that it's a halloweekends attraction makes sense too. If it were to be ready for halloweekends then it would have to start now, right? I have yet to attend the park during halloweekends...Im not big on halloween and im not a fan of extremely large crowds. Is it worth it?

OK well I guess I will throw my hat in the ring and state what I think might be coming!

I really believe we will be getting a GCI Wooden Twister coaster with the station loading from frontier trail. (That would bring more people to that side of the park not just walking thru).

I know that GCI has been in the park last year looking at Mean Streak, We also know that CGA was to get a GCI coaster this year and didn't. We do know that they are trying to sell CGA park to lower debt. Not to mention if Cedar Fair did buy a 3 coaster deal from GCI there still needs to be a third coaster built somewhere!

My gut just tells me we are getting a GCI coaster
