Did anybody else notice the interesting coincidence that this dropped either on the same day or the day after the Walt Disney Company announced that they were going to reduce headcount by about 7,000 people company-wide?

Don't read anything into it, I just thought it was an interesting coincidence.

^Is there some International "Recruiting Orginization" that Disney, Cedar Fair, and others in the service/entertainment industry work with that makes a certain number of recruits available each year? Perhaps a first come-first serve process. Perhaps Disney did some cost cutting and CF needed to fill some serious gaps.

Considering those 7,000 from Disney aren’t coming from the parks, I’d say no.

My poor attempt at a comparison search:

2023 - 7000 associates https://pointbuzz.com/News/Story/3380

2022 - 6500 associates https://pointbuzz.com/News/Story/3357

2021 - 6500 associates https://pointbuzz.com/News/Story/3331

2017 - 5000 associates https://pointbuzz.com/News/Story/3175

Does anybody know if CP reached its hiring goal? I ask because I feel that working there lost a bit of its appeal when they moved housing and activities off site. I admit, I’m a bit biased having lived in Cedars ages ago, and I thought it was a great benefit living right next to the park. Having said that, many people chose to live in the off-site apartments and they seemed to enjoy their summers there, as well. Either way, do they still arrange for activities like they did back in the day - dinner on the beach, a rec center with basketball and volleyball, beach Olympics, etc.? I haven’t seen much mention of those intangibles in the hiring adds that I’ve seen. So, if they’re still doing such things, but not advertising them, then it seems to me that they’re selling the “adventure” short. Or, maybe people just don’t care about those things these days. I’m curious about what they now do, and what others think.
