Winter Chill Out 2018

No. But the lucky enthusiast that convinces the park they are their biggest fan gets to go first*

Haha.....oh my.

I can only imagine how people would react if they didn't get the chance to get one of the limited numbers of fast lanes for the event.

You might need a Fast Lane to buy a Fast Lane.

The weather forecast has taken a turn for the worse in the last 24 hours. Hoping we get lucky and it doesn't pour. I've never been to a super rainy Chill Out, bad luck!

Does anyone know if CP has allowed umbrellas for Chill Out in the past? I'm assuming they don't but wanted see if anyone knew for sure.

CP Coaster Top 10: 1. Steel Vengeance (40 rides to date) 2. Top Thrill Dragster (191 launches to date, 4 rollbacks) 3. Magnum XL 200 4. Millennium Force 5. Maverick 6. Raptor 7. GateKeeper 8. Valravn 9. Rougarou 10. Gemini

Why wouldn’t they? Umbrellas are permitted in the park during the summer, so...

Why go by a forecast that's still a few days out? They can't even predict what will happen today.

^ I think we are close enough to Sat to plan on the forecast. Our area has rain every day, with more rain predicted for each day through next Sunday.

I understand the majority of the tour is on pavement, but, by the end of the walk everyone will be completely soaked. I wonder about any flooding issues regarding getting to Sandusky. Our area -esp directly north of us- has flood warning/watches

Sandusky -Fri is predicted to be about 3/4 inch. Sat during the day is another half inch, and Sat later more rain.

Our area is pretty similar to the Sandusky forecast. Rain each day.

I think it's going to be a soggy, muddy, wet mess by the end of the tour.

While rain isn't ideal, I'm looking forward to being in the park. Trying to decide what to wear, to ensure I'm not soaked completely.

Hopefully there won't be tons of flooding with all of the rain.

We haven't missed a Chill Out in 7 years, but, weather may be an issue....seriously debating.

I know it will be warm for the time of the year, but, with wet shoes, socks, pant-legs it will make for a long cold drive home.

We have been waiting and wanting to get back in the park, I'm not certain what we will choose to do...will be great to be in the park -will be cold wet and miserable.

Just go buy some decent rain gear and some rain boots. You'll be fine. Or I'm sure there are still some foamy-mouthed people who missed out on tickets that would love to buy them...

We have all the rain gear....long coats, hats, boots, umbrellas.... I've been teased for having more than a dozen umbrellas in my car. I find them cheap -garage sale, thrift store, clearance sale, I grab them. ( I even have a hands free umbrella...it has a brace that goes over your shoulder and then an arm that tucks underneath your arm -in your armpit. Looks like it just floats over your head) I always pick up cheap umbrellas Because you always need another!

My concern is more for the flood issues, hard to decide to be gone for hours while you're concerned about crawlspace/basement/yard/roadways flooding.

Roadway flooding shouldn't be too much of an issue or hindrance except on roads that are notorious for puddles, such as the Chausee. But don't fret, they are closing it to CP access anyway.

The main lot appears partially flooded today.
There’s also much concern for flooding all over sandusky today in the news.
And there’s high probability of rain through Saturday night. Hopefully the rain tempers.

Since I slept through the ticket sales this year, Ill be nice, warm and dry working on my boat in Sandusky on Saturday reading about all the happenings at WCO. I hope the rain breaks for all you attendees.

I'm taking a change of clothes with me so I'm not soaked after the tour. And I'll wear my crappy shoes on the tour so my good ones don't get muddy.

For sure, a change of clothes wouldn't be a bad idea. I'm planning on wearing the rain jacket I got when working for Cedar Fair, as well as some sort of boots. Don't really have some rain suit pants, so that may be an issue.

^ I have no idea what you think of fashion and what other people think, but, if you already have rain proof jacket and boots you can always make do with a trash bag...it's only for a few hours on one day.

Preferably, Use a cinch tie trash bag, slit the bottom of the bag and step into it ...like stepping into a skirt, then use the cinch tie -to tie it as a belt. May look silly, but it's practical. You can use white kitchen bag (they are normally smaller size) or the bigger bags are normally 33 gal or lawn and leaf, but those are normally in fashion forward slimming black....after all, white is normally only worn after Memorial Day thru Labor Day! haha

Kind of joking, but, i have seen this before and it does work -cheaply. as everyone has trash bags at home. It is a simple quick solution that works. If you get a few folks to go along and do this as well, everyone else will think "Thats kinda smart. Why didnt we think of that?"

Hehe, I'm not too incredibly worried about it....I know that we're planning on hanging around Sandusky afterwards, probably going to Castaway Bay too....so being too wet won't be terrible. Just don't want to be soaked to the skivvies.

The most important thing to wear is wool socks, preferably with a poly or silk liner like a women’s dress sock. Will keep your feet warm and next to zero chance of a blister. Cotton kills.

I find a felt expedition type hat much preferable than a hood.

Frog Toggs at Wally World are cheap solution for rain paints but I just wear synethic cargo pants. :D

With rain and temps in the 30'sat the start of the tours I am wearing ski pants and boots. That way at the end of the tour and at lunch you can take the pants off and be dry and comfortable.
