Winter Chill Out 2018

^^ Yes! Never wear cotton as a base layer! It will make you sweat, then the sweat will cool down, making you colder and uncomfortable.

I bought a bunch of waterproof gear when I went hiking in New Zealand last year. I guess they're coming out of the closet.

Above all, make sure that you have good boots. The park will likely be REALLY muddy in the behind-the-scene areas.

I was also looking into the weather more. Detroit has a 30% chance of rain on Saturday, so I'm assuming that this system will be scraping through Indiana and Ohio. I will pray that it turns more southeast then they are initially predicting and we'll get grazed with a light rain at worst.

Hey everybody, I have an extra ticket for the 10:30am slot. Bought it thinking a friend would be able to come, but plans fell through. Looking to get my money back ($50). I have a venmo account. I have the tickets digitally, and can share as a screen shot or tag up in person Saturday. Email me if interested (pratta.c@gmail.com). Looking forward to Saturday!

UPDATE: My extra ticket has been accounted for. Here's to a wet Saturday!

Update: The rain is most likely going to start around 9am, so the 8 and 8:30 tours will be dry for at least a little while.

I am buying one from someone who can't make it. Will I still be able to get in since it was sold to someone else. I am paying the $50 price so he/she is not making any profit.

When you print the ticket, make sure you put in your name as the attendee. As long as it wasn't a scam and they aren't trying to get in on the same barcode, you should be good. And if not, I'll be in the same boat as you!

For those attending, an email has been sent (around 4:40pm yesterday) to the email addressed used to register for the event.

If you haven't received it, check your spam folder.

This email has a little bit of information on what to expect tomorrow.

Hope my fellow attendees have a great time even though it's likely to be wet. According to Accuweather at this point, my tour at 10:30 should start out dry-ish, with rain coming in around 1 pm.

So I can only assume it's not you or Jeff? :)

I just can't even fathom how we're less than 24 hours away from the first tour. Time has gone by quicker than I thought it would, and I can't thank it enough.

Guess it's worth one more shot. :) If anyone happens to have two extra tickets they are unable to use for whatever reason, I'd be willing to purchase them. If not, hope it stays dry for everyone tomorrow. Thanks!

I on the other hand would give anything for time to just slow the you know what down for a little while.

Neither snow nor rain nor lack of heat nor gloom of Lake Erie winds stays these enthusiasts from the swift completion of their Winter Chill Out tours.

To those of you going, have a great time! For those of us who procrastinated to purchase tickets, we look forward to some intrepid journalism.

The weather gods did not favor us. Steady rain and 36 degrees (basically the worst weather). Heading over to the park in about 45 minutes for the 8am session.

Hey there, apparently I'm one of the two finest live posting WCO. I will try to follow this thread if there's anything specific you are wanting to see. That way those at home are able to enjoy this event as if you were there. Please understand that I will follow the no cameras rule and respect the park's wishes when it comes to info that shouldn't be public.

I want to see all the things. And if you don't sneak in a selfie, I'll be disappointed. :-P

Oh no. I just got up. Must’ve slept in.

I can think of not much worse than being at CP on a day like this. It’s too bad it wasn’t scheduled for tomorrow. It shows 45 and partly sunny. Anyway, have fun.

Let’s see. What’s on tv?
