Jeff's Clues

There have definitely been alot of clues dropped by our webmaster Jeff. Here are the ones that take notice...

HERE
"Cedar Point isn't getting a coaster? Mwahahahahahahahahahaha."

It's a coaster.

HERE
"I'm sure that, while enthusiasts may compain about one aspect of the new ride, the world will not be able to help but take notice... again."

It could be tall, yet not of significant length.

HERE
"I think it's safe to guess that you won't know anything until the kids go back to school."

It's probably being announced in September.

HERE
"But that said, if you like Troika, Chaos and Paddlewheel, and want to ride them this year, you should probably ride them before the end of August."

Troika and Chaos will be moved/removed from their current location, with Paddlewheel Ex. closing down for construction.

With that said, we're looking at something tall, with a long straight path after Troika and Chaos are removed. It's something that will turn the head of the world, while the enthusiasts won't be completely satisfied (an impossible task.)

Of course, he could just be screwing with our heads...

Did he change the caption for this forum? It says "maybe this will settle the record dispute". I don't remember that being there before.

Good work, Tommy. That was the first time I saw some of those quotes.

Next Trip: August 11th (and I'll ride Chaos, Troika, and Paddlewheel!)

If it was the middle of the offseason I would say you have too much free time, but its the middle of summer, get out and enjoy the park for the rest of the season before you don't have time to ride anything this summer.

long live the sky slide

Its going to be the same type of ride as superman, but there not going to call it a coaster, but a free fall ride!It will be taller and better! I don't know, but that would be really funny!

Good job for posting all of those, Tommy. There are many more that we could find, but I'm just too lazy/busy (oxymoron? :)) right now. My prediction of a month ago keeps looking more and more feasible.

As for the forum caption change...I like. :)

Well, the mice in my head are running at a very rapid pace...

I would have said, at first, an Intamin hydraulic coaster (Xcelerator) but I wonder if:

A: Cedar Point would build three Intamins in a row and

B: Two launched rides in a row

Then I think about the coasters that the GP eats up and enthusiasts aren't quite as fond of. Millennium Force comes to mind, but why? Short, uneventful layout? Of course, they wouldn't build another Millennium Force... That went nowhere.

Then I begin to ponder the somewhat new anti-B&M grumblings. I for one love B&M rides, and can't understand why anyone else wouldn't, but some don't think they're intense enough. I would have also challenged the amount of space there, but if they remove some flat rides from that location, there certainly would be room for some sort of looper. Or... Vertical coaster?

Of course, CP doesn't need another 200+ footer w/o loops... But an S&S ride seems to be the most probable in my eyes. A Ta2k w/o loops... One big hump.

And think. There are a lot of record disputes around here... Number of coasters, fastest American coaster (between MF and STE) and tallest American coaster (same players.)

Which also leads me to believe it isn't anything that could be disputed as a coaster, because that still wouldn't settle anything.

Good. I really didn't want them to get a reverse free fall...

Well, if you're still here after all that garbage, bless you, and get your priorities straight.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think S&S? I mean, how long has that ride been around and it still doesn't work reliably. The Intamin version I suppose has no track record yet, but at least initially it seems to be in good shape.

Add this latest clue to the top of the thread...:)

I just can't see S&S either...

Granted, we don't have too much information on the one open in Japan, but Hypersonic seems to be having problems on top of problems. Is there any word on the new trains over there? Have they been put into use yet?

I thought you were shutting your hole, lol. ;)

I'll stick with what I've said as far back as May, when the "basement" turned out to be a footer. Record setting Intamin "Rocket Coaster" similar to Xcelerator.

LMAO, if you thought Millennium Force's layout was *short* or *uneventful*....prepare yourself!

Newt, I've always said CP should add a reverse freefall and call it a thrill ride, but not a coaster. That would certainly shut Six Flags up about the coaster dispute.

Almost forgot, great job on finding all those quotes Tommy.

Why get a reverse free-fall to break the record when you can get a full circuit launched to shatter the record? That would settle all record disputes.

CP_bound, he wasn't talking about getting a reverse free-fall to break any records, he was saying that if CP got one and called it a "thrill ride" rather than a "coaster" like SFMM does, then SFMM couldn't really claim Superman as a coaster.

But PLEASE can me make this the last mention of anything concerning whether S:TE is a coaster or not.

Wicked twists: 7

I don't really care what CP "gets" next year, but one thing I do hope is that they don't remove Troika and Chaos completely.

I would rather see them moved. When I think about CP's ride list there are adult rides (coasters) and kid rides (3 kid areas). I think what CP should keep and build more of is family oriented flat rides.

I know that every time my family goes to CP two of go and ride coasters and the other two ride about six different rides (Dodgems, Matterhorn, Himalaya, Troika, Scranbler, and Cadillac Cars). Who do you think has more fun?

I hope that CP moves those two flat rides, rather that REmove them.

Please don't jump on me about CP has plenty of flatrides.
