Jeff's Clues

This is becoming a science or something... analyzing every statement that Jeff types...

Has anyone called Ms. Cleo to find out?

Didn't ya hear? She went out of business. Don't ya think she would've seen that coming? The Lemon Chill Guy and Dippin' Dots Girl, however, are still well in business ;)

And oh yeah, good job forcedude04 for analyzing just one small thing! ("Will this new ride settle record disputes?")

She went out of business because people sued her a** off, because she is a phony
A phony? You jest! The next thing you are going to tell me is that wrestling is not real.

Has Jeff responded to the Screamscape rumor one way or the other? I haven't noticed him say anything about it yet.

Jeff said,

I'm really having too much fun this year to get too caught up in the future. Time is precious.

I don't know if Jeff was hinting something, but this maybe a clue about what people might complain about.

Chief Wahoo, he didn't respond directly to what Screamscape said. He posted this before closing a forum asking if it was possible to build what Screamscape said.

"A little speculation is fun, but just because some Web site posts something doesn't make it true...

But then again, every time I say something about what Cedar Point is getting it gets its own topic over on GTTP. People will believe anything they read on the Internet."

This one has now made light here Jeff ;)

haha forcedude, I was gonna post that last night, but I think I look bad enough by starting this whole topic ;)

My guess (after hearing some news from Germany and Switzerland):

world's tallest (and fastest) continious circuit roller coaster in the world

(Height between 410 and 450 ft. with speeds of more than 120 mph. Hydraulic launch, similar to Xcelerator.) Now keep this in mind and wait for the press release...you won't be disapPointed.

I know as well as Jeff knows, hence his comment, that "while enthusiasts may be dissapointed in one aspect of the ride..." there will be a dissapointment I have a feeling its with one of the records everyone wants it to have..

Long time lurker and first time poster here...I finally have something I think might be worthy to say....I was doing some fact-checking for a guidebook I'm writing and spoke with a gent in the PR dept....I asked if it was possible there might be an announcement as to the expansion for 2003 before my final version is due in late October. He informed me that there would not be an announcement before then but suggested that if i wait a little bit longer I might be able to include 2003 hours/day of operation and "other announcements" in the final version of my book. I also requested to be placed on the list to receive such announcements as they are made.
I hope this info helps, even if it's not the answer you (or any of us) were hoping for.
I still think it would be the ride time factor. They could also be disappointed in a small track length, but at this speed, any length would seem small. Even with a 4000-5000 foot track length, at that speed, It would only be around a 35-50 second ride after the launch. I think I did the conversions right.

Let's say it does 120 mph. To get this into feet per second, you mulitply 5280 by 120 and divide that by 3600 (60minx60seconds). This comes to 176 feet per second. Divide 4000 and 5000 by this and you get around 23 and 28 seconds.

I know that this would be straight track with no friction loss, so I factored in some an extra seconds to make it realistic. So this will be a ride that has a very little ride time...just like Xcelerator.

To me, this is what enthusiasts would complain or be disappointed about. But traveling the distance of a football field in less than 2 seconds sounds fun, does it not?

On a different note, this is the latest quote by Jeff...but not really a clue.

But then there are instances where I'm asked to leak stuff either to quiet rumors or generate a little hype. That's a lot of fun. :)

The whole "I should shut my hole" thing is really just part of the game, not a clue to what's next.

Well CP should just tell Jeff to leak the specs, and then they can just announce the name in November! ;)

They're making a big mistake if they wait until October or November to announce this thing. At that point, they might as well, not have an announcement at all. Too bad whoever the person in upper management who cancelled the announcement doesn't just let the marketing folks do what they do best and have done sucessfully for years. It's hard to argue that they did a bad job with Millennium Force! That was announced July 22 and everyone knows about it. Heck, I was getting my haircut the other day and the two people next to me started talking about Millennium Force and CP. I had to contain myself from jumping out of the chair and spilling CP info all over the shop! :)

Let me put it this way, CP doesnt have to worry about the new attraction getting recognition, it will draw enough attention to itself.

Someday's it's just not worth chewing through the restrains.

Not from the GP more than 200 (?) miles away. The only way they'll see it is on the Travel Channel.

Paul

I live about 200 km away and just seen a T.V. Commercial for Cedar Point so im sure that is not a problem
200km...so roughly 120 miles..about 2 hours...i am sure CP has commercials and other means of getting there info out to people that live a lot farther away then 2 hours. I was at the park thursday and my mom talked to a lady in texas who saw commercials down there.
