The next marketing term

I think either meta-coaster or mecha-coaster.
To add to my first two guesses of Ultra and Uber I will say

Collassalcoaster and Mammothcoaster

Kilo, mega, etc., were around long before we started measuring data in bytes. I had to memorize them all in high school chemistry, but don't remember many of them now. Regardless, they were all meant to count numbers in powers of ten, which is why it annoys me that they'd be applied to coaster heights in mutiples of 100.

But then again, what do you expect in a country where we don't use the metric system.

Oh, and yes, someone did get it right, save for an incorrect vowel.

DELETED!

I think their gonna relate the term to CP, so other parks will have to think of them when putting in new rides, so here's my 2-cents:

-Geminiandmagnummidwaycoaster

-Snoopycoaster (of course getting permission from the authorities of that copyright)

-Kinzelcoaster

-Kellercoaster

Or there are other ones:

-Aerocoaster (not offiliated with Arrow Dynamics)

-Duracoaster (Hyper referes to speed, Giga refers to height, dura referes to durability - either that or the "Withstandinator")

And some to fool around with:

-Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh coaster

-Withstandinator (as said above)

-Wells Coaster (H for Hyper, G for Giga, these two make of the first two initials of the author H.G. Wells!)

-Feces Producer Coaster

-Americancolorsbutyellowexceptforbluecoaster

-Sir Speed A lot coaster

Then again, if Jeff said that someone was right except for one vowel, I'm going with:

-Stratacoaster (not stratocoaster)

-Quadrocoaster (not quadracoaster)

Oh, and yes, someone did get it right, save for an incorrect vowel.

That means we get to quit guessing guys!

I agree with "Stratacoaster," although I think "Sonicoaster" is awesome.

------------------
"Uhhh I don't think my restraint is supposed to move like this. . ."

well i think this thread says a lot...looks like the average age seems to be about 11...

however, i can see quadracoaster sounding like something CP would do... and Epicoaster... then again everything sounds dumb at first, roller coaster names included.

Strata-coaster would be pretty sweet.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of # 16, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

I have even grown accustomed to Wicked Twister. When it was announced, it sounded so weird, but I couldn't imagine it as anything else.

I have to agree with Got One on this one, why can't we take this a little more seriously. Anyway, I'll put my bet on metacoaster (with a changed vowel somewhere) or stratacoaster. They sound good.

Yeah, I narrowed it down to:

stratacoaster

However, it would be linguistically (is THAT even a word?) correct to spell it stratocoaster. But, when you are making up a new word does that really matter?

I don't think that gigacoaster or hypercoaster is a word. BTW, here is ol' webster's definition for strata-

1 : a bed or layer artificially made
2 a : a sheetlike mass of sedimentary rock or earth of one kind lying between beds of other kinds b : a region of the sea or atmosphere that is analogous to a stratum of the earth c : a layer of tissue <deep stratum of the skin> d : a layer in which archaeological material (as artifacts, skeletons, and dwelling remains) is found on excavation
3 a : a part of a historical or sociological series representing a period or a stage of development b : a socioeconomic level of society comprising persons of the same or similar status especially with regard to education or culture
4 : one of a series of layers, levels, or gradations in an ordered system <strata of thought>
5 : a statistical subpopulation
usage The plural strata has occasionally been used as a singular since the 18th century and is sometimes given the plural stratas <there was a strata of Paris which mere criticism of books fails to get hold of -- Ezra Pound> <a Roman burial ground suggests stratas of corruption and decay -- Connie Fletcher, Booklist>. Current evidence shows senses 2, 3b, and 4 so used, with 3b the most common. Singular strata is persistent but not frequent. It may someday establish itself as a singular like agenda, but its current status is something less than established.

I don't know. My head hurts.

I dunno the sign said a new thrill ride, I could see thrillacoaster!
Stratacoaster sounds good to me. When I first read the word I thought of "Stratosphere" and stratocoaster is odd to say in my opinion, so simply change an "o" to an "a" and it sounds good.

Remember, I said it first (stratacoaster, not stratocoaster)!
I still like the Big Ass Coaster. I think that was Jeff's term over at CoasterBuzz, if I am not mistaken.

Yes, Chief, "linguistically" is a word. And you're correct, the word "stratosphere" is spelled with an "o"; however, the word "stratum" in Latin implies that an acceptable spelling of the newly coined "strat*coaster" could be "stratucoaster," or even, as you had suggested, "stratacoaster."
You've made 41 posts in the last 3 days. Could you go outside and get some fresh air, we would all appreciate it. If you would like to get techincal, no one actually read your post, like usual. Every one of them are extremely rude, annoying, or flat out wrong. I saw who it was was written by, and went on to the next. Please try to keep quiet until you have something useful to post.

Thanks,

EVERYONE

If it's one of the guesses with a wrong vowel.

I'll say Colossalcoaster from Collassalcoaster.

It was the 1st post before Jeff's hint as well.

Iconocoaster or Stratocoaster - refrence to layers in the atmosphere?

This was the fourth post in this forum, and it was spelled with an "o" instead of an "a" which sounds better. I really like stratacoaster and believe that it is the tag going to be given to this new genre of coasters of over 400 foot high.
