The next marketing term

For the record, the following are the only somewhat sensible guesses that were posted prior to Jeff's post on 1/6/03 at 7:20 PM where he said that someone had guessed it "save for an incorrect vowel":

Thrill-Coaster, Icono-coaster, Strato-coaster, Ultra-coaster, Uber-coaster, Super-coaster, Quadra-coaster, Intense-coaster, Rocket-coaster, Jumbo-coaster, Meta-coaster, Macro-coaster, Turbo-coaster, Nitro-coaster, Blasto-coaster, Sonic-coaster, Collassal-Coaster

Even this list includes some which are really not very likely but I think I have listed all but the profane and otherwise "stupid" ones. Question for Jeff: Is the correct one in the list above?

Jeff - Now that the announcement is so imminent, could you at least answer my question above so that we can keep this game going? Also, maybe you would be willing to throw a few of the above "marketing terms" out to narrow the list for us?

Wasn't StratosFEAR what the Stratosphere Tower going to call their Arrow Fishook? I think so BUT they spelled thiers the normal way. I like my play on words better...

I'm having "third" thoughts about which of the names I think is most likely for the new marketing term:

1. Originally, I posted "Ultra-Coaster" which I like the sound of but it no longer fits with the "change the vowel" hint that Jeff offered. Also, I now feel that "Ultra" doesn't leave room for the next largest coaster.

2. "Strato-Coaster", as originally posted by Fluidcoasters seemed logical if it were changed to "Strata-Coaster" in order to satisfy Jeff's comment that a vowel needed to change. However, now I am thinking that "Strata" will not convey to the GP that this is the next largest coaster. The term is just too vague.

3. So, based on the above, my latest and final vote is for "Colossal-Coaster". It is simple, it conveys something very clear about size and based on kakarot's original spelling of "Collassal", it satisfies Jeff's requirement to change a vowel.

I'm done.

I'll throw in my bet on quadra/quadri/quadro-coaster. It makes the most sense to me.

Going with the missing vowel theory, I'm gonna go with Rider's "extreme coaster" (spelled with the "e" this time) as a dark horse bet.

Interesting... I never even thought of that....

And that was just one of my gag guesses.

"Extreme coaster" is too much of a Six Flags name.
...and Xcelerator isn't?
One word, Omegacoaster.
Quadra-Coaster remains my vote... but Uber-Coaster sounds Uber-Kewl! :)

Heh. Cedar Point may have the first Stratacoaster but Disney MGM Studios had the first coaster with a Stratocaster.

LOL. This is ironic because I just got back from rockport, and i got to drive my cousin's top fuel dragster. I did a 5.1 second run and clocked in at 321 mph. 0-321 in 5 seconds. I am still floating.
I always thought it would have been cool if RnRC had come outside and followed the "strings".
