maXair Reviews and Remarks

Well, after all of this wait, was it worth it?

Considering I haven't been on Delerium at PKI, I thought it was worth it today. It is a very disorienting ride. It's like you're upside down, but you know that you never actually reach that point. I can't imagine what it would feel like if it went all the way around. One last quick item of note, when you go to the park, notice how much bird crap is on top the ride already.

Best description...odd. I didn't know what to make of it as I only rode it once. I noticed it seemed to have good capacity for the most part, minus long dispatch times...which is expected on opening day since its the first time the crews have had to work with the GP. But the ride itself was kinda weird. I noticed the spinning, but it didn't take away from the overal effect of the swining. It seemed like a good combination of the two as I held down my Doughnuts on it.

Very very disorentling, but such a great ride. Almost upside down one time, facing straight down on the midway another. Such a great ride, and not nauseating at all.

Although it was down for some time this morning, its pretty reliable :)

Seats are so comfortable too! *** Edited 5/8/2005 4:26:16 AM UTC by Coaster Krazy***

Both times we rode, early in the day and then just a few minutes before the fireworks started, the wait was no more than a half hour.
Maybe its just me but my thoughts after riding it for the first time were leaning towards it being more intense than Delirium. Seeing the tip of the Space Spiral and the Giant Wheel lit up at night while being practically inverted is going to take some getting used to. ;)

I rode in seat 46 and seat 50. I wish my seats on the two rides would have been more spread out numerically but they were assigned and I have all season to try out the others.
The whole area looks neat and the projector lights are a great touch. I noticed more people were playing the games compared to last year too.

Yes, I fell victim to the "Rebound" game and cost myself $20....didn't even win that big giant fish.

MaXair was awesome, and I only waited about 15 minutes for it, it seems to move people pretty well.

I honestly thought maXair was "meh". Will I ride it again? Yeah. Will I wait a long time for it? No. I managed to get on the first ride yesterday, which I really liked, and then ride itself is pretty fun, but essentially, it's just swinging, which I happen to find pretty boring. The only actual "thrilling" part of the ride is when it's at its maXimum speed. When I got off, I was not dizzy in the least, which was honestly a little disappointment. I was hoping that it would be a little disorienting.

I rode it 3 times, and waited about 30 minutes every time. Night rides are the best. The lighting is so awesome on this ride at night, it looks like a U.F.O. All that I can say is that I think I have a new favorite ride.:)

The ride is one of the best additions to the park in ages. Different ride every seat, again, the money seats being 1-8. Easily one of the best decisions the park has made in a while, and it's going to help games and Wicked Twister.

Yeah, the Wicked Twister line was over 45 minutes at one point yesterday! I don't think I've seen the line that long since it first opened.

I agree with Jeff, from about seat 1 to 10 on maXair are the money seats.

Did anyone get to ride maXair while the fireworks were going off? I missed it by one ride cycle, I was bummed.

100% without a doubt great addition to the park. Excellent choice. With the addition of MaXair and the revamp of the games midway it is stunning. There were more people in that area yesterday than I've seen in a long time. MaXair is now a definite must do ride at the park. Excellent ride and yes 1-8 are the money seats.

Does the ride always come to a complete stop in the same position? I am wondering because of "1-8 being the 'money seats."

I am going on Friday and want to know if I should bother hoping. =P

Yes, the ride parks in the same position every time.

Yeah, I found the best seats to be somewhere in the 1-8 range. I think this was a much needed addition and facelift to that corner of the park.

How can there be money seats. Its a circle, how are they different?

bholcomb's avatar

Because the ride spins the same each time, and on the tops of swings you get the best upside-down feeling, and then on one of the swings you're staring straight at the ground from way up.

Just ride a few times. You'll understand. My ride in seat 14 wasn't nearly as good as my ride in seat 5.

I got seat #9 on my first trip today and I can honestly say, I have never experienced that type of airtime before. Especially on the last high swing towards Raptor, that was the most extreme! It was a great ride, and a nice addition to the CP collection.

I did notice all the sea gull deposits on the top, I initally thought it said something up there (either Maxair or CP)! OPPS!

Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast

I got seat 39, and I'm not sure if it was the seat or just me, but I didn't find it all that impressive. It was fun, yes, but I wouldn't wait more than 20 minutes or so for it. I only felt "upside down" once, and even that was 'meh.' I did like the sensation of speed coming back down though, my seat caught the front end a couple times, it was great.

I must say though, it was the only ride this weekend to almost completely remove my necklace, which is pretty much a plus!
