maXair Reviews and Remarks

I got a ride today and I was shocked at the airtime you got on this ride. I had seat 6 and was amazed by this ride. A couple of times it looked like you were going to hit the supports and just looking at Space Spiral like that was amazing. The ride fit right in like it had been their forever. Definately a great addition to the park.

So, I'm gessing the seats are numbered right?

What seat numbers are the best if you don't want to feel like you are upside down?

Yes, I fell victim to the "Rebound" game and cost myself $20....didn't even win that big giant fish.

I was at the "Rebound" game with a seven year old. Just as I said "This game is almost impossible to win" he rebounded the ball into the basket and won a big fish.

About MaXair, I would say that it is a wonderful, fun ride. For me, it's all about soaring through the air, it makes me feel like I'm a bird in flight. A great addition to CP, this ride will be a big crowd pleaser.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Different ride every seat, again, the money seats being 1-8.

That being said and the fact that it is circular, to me the opposite seats should offer basically the same experience. My second ride on opening day I was in seat 33 and had basically the same experience described. Lots of straight up with me on a straight path on the outside to lots of straight down and backwards stuff. Felt very much just like a giant swing in that position than a pendulum. Definately, a completely different ride then when I sat in seat 24. Nice addition to the park.

I loved it.

Ian, TheRealCP and I all agreed it's a bit more intense than Delirium is, and you certainly can't beat the views! There is nothing like seeing Raptor, Blue Streak and Sandusky Bay upside down.

Even when the line was at it's max, we only waited 30 minutes for it. The queue was full everytime we walked by on both Saturday and Sunday.

Well, I would bet the opposite of 1-8 (the appointed 'money seats') so 20s and stuff. I had 39 and never really felt upside down.

I am soooooooooo hoooked on theis ride!! In the 2 days I was there I rode it 6 times and had a GREAT ride each time. I mostly got in the 20's but saturday night I got seat 7 during the fireworks. Talk about awsome. It felt almost like you were looking down on them. I can't wait to get back to CP and ride it again.

Cedar Point really went the extra mile on this project. I have always been really into park atmosphere and landscaping around the ride, and I have never been more impressed then with what I saw on Saturday. The color and lighting patterns are spectacular, and the midway has great flow to it. They even filled in the ride area with grass, which really makes a difference, instead of just putting in woodchips. The new midway and games area is now an extremely pleasant place to be, and a perfect way to cap off the renovation process that, that area of the park has been undergoing ever since the Giant Wheel was moved there in 2000. The ride itself is excellent with its location; I love being able to see the lake on both sides of the park at different moments during the ride. My hat goes off to CP they did an amasing job.

Looking at the webcam as a guide, whereabout are seats 1 through 8?

Seat 1 and seat 50 meet where you enter the ride area. 1-8 would be the first few seats from the point where you enter the ride platform towards the control booth.

The opposite seats would be 26-33. I had one in 29 I think and it was pretty good, but not quite as strong. The most dull ride I had was in 40 or 41.

Everything looks wonderful and the ride is increadible. Like mentioned above, I do like that they put the grass in the ride area. I just wish they'd done something more with the vast patch of concrete between the main midway and the ride its self. It's kind of empty, they could have put some flower gardens in or something.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I rode in seat 7 Sunday and it was fun, but not enough to wait more than 15 minutes for again. I'll admit though the views are awesome, specifically considering many are upside down.

The capacity is great and lines moved quickly so props for that.

The park was pretty much empty most of the day Monday (5/9). Queue was full during the day. I rode in the morning and evening. I was one of the first ones out on it that morning and the ride got to my stomach a little. Around 6:30 the ride shut down and maintance were under the gondola with a ladder fixing something. Opened back up around 7:00 and ran well. Takes a while for it to start up, but once it does it takes off quick.

For my review, it's basically a ride you'll want to ride everytime you go to Cedar Point, but it's not a favorite like Raptor, MF, Magnum, and TTD are.

How is a ride that you ride every visit not a favorite?

I enjoyed it on Monday, rode in seat 48 but like Abz, I wouldn't wait longer than 15 minutes for it again. I'll have to experience it again in one of the "premier" seat numbers. It definitely will bring more guests to that section of the park. I was walking up to Wicked Twister just as Maxair went down for mechanical reasons and the swarm of people running towards WT was a hysterical site to see. *** Edited 5/10/2005 6:39:11 PM UTC by DemonDroppin'***

Jeff, I meant it's a good ride, but not the best. I ride Mean Streak everytime I go to CP, it's just something to ride.
