What CedarPoint is lacking the most....

I have been on the flying coaster at Six Flags in Denver. It was the absolute worst ride I have ever been on. Just terrible. I dont care how many crazy loops and hills you put on that ride. It wouldnt make any difference. Has anyone ridden this one and any other flying coasters? Im curious if they all ride in about the same manner. If so, I hope CP would not put in such a ride.

I think that what cedar point should put in next is that ride no one has even thought of yet! Seriously, i want to see them put in something that people will look at and go, "WHAT IS THAT!!!!!! I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHINK LIKE IT!!!!! thats what they should build next
Okayyyyyyyyyyy. If the world's tallest, fastest scream machine didn't already do that for you, what did you have in mind? Two launched trains that smash into each other?

Ooooh, oooh I know! How 'bout a spin-and-spue that unlatches its restraints and tosses folks who refuse to proofread--screaming in ALL CAPS and plenty of exclamation points--headfirst into Sandusky Bay?

Well here I am contributing to the what's next thread now that TTD is a month old. As Jeff said the only thing left for CP to get is the inversion record. CP would look at Intamin and B&M to build it. Personally I would go with B&M for their next ride (as I think it's time for their return to CP).

My goal for the new ride to debut in 2005-2006, Highest, fastest and longest sitdown, with the most inversions. But make the ride about 4 minutes long. The average B&M is around $15M. I say spend $25M again but make it with the most inversions and add bunny hills after that for airtime similar to Nitro. With a ride lasting around 4 minutes. Then it could be 6 trains possibly, more then the average 3, and I think you have a great ride.....Unless B&M is cooking up something new then examine that.

Both manufacturers are great, Intamin pushes the envelope with new technology and their rides have some kinks when new but get worked out and are great. B&M is the Dependable company that will not push the envelope, more conservative is the word I am looking for. Oh well that's my thoughts now.

(Edit)One more thought. You may say we already have bunny hills and airtime with magnum. Yes we do, but I would like a long ride and alot of airtime from B&M now and not just Arrow. Nothing against magnum, or TTD for being short, both are excellent rides.

I would just be happy to get anything. CP likes to throw the good stuff at us and anything would be appreciated. Don't bite the hand that gives you excellent coasters.

I would like to see new additions to Soak City. I am sure there have been some innovations in water rides since C.P. installed the last attraction.
What I'd like to see is a LIM-launched floorless woodie with a handful of inversions and free-spinning seats.

Seriously, I'm with Pete - some expansion of the nightlife scene would be nice. Grabbing a Sundae and kicking back on the beach after a day of riding is nice, but sometimes I wanna hit the dance floor and let loose.

Couple of things here. Those who suggest taking out Corkscrew, what are you going to put there? That ride has one of the smallest footprints in the park, as it just hugs the edge of the parking lot. Meanstreak, while far from the greatest, is still one of the biggest woodies in the world, and it atleast looks good in the coveted record books. To throw out my 2 cents on the next ride idea, I say talk to B&M about making a 4 D. I don't think they were the first to make a flyer, but they took the idea and made it better. Maybe they could make a more reliable 4 D design. That's a bit far fetched, and if it were between a flyer and floorless, I'd go with a floorless simply because it's a lot easier to make them bigger, faster, and go upside down a lot of times in a lot of ways. I can't believe we're talking about this not even a month after Dragster opened....

I doubt they would put any 'nightlife' into a highly family oriented park. I just don't think thats the kind of crowd and entertainment CP is going for.
I had another idea. Some of you might know about Thunder Dolphin, a coaster made by Intamin in Japan. It goes on top of the buildings all around it. It looks really cool. So I thought what if CP built a coaster that went on top of Hotel Breakers.
Ripper to answer your question about the flyingcoaster here is the one you rode http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery1711.htm?Picture=9 The flyers everyone else is talking about is one like this http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery1977.htm?Picture=2, the one you rode in looks like it is a cage for animals or sometyhin.
I think that Cedar Point should get a flier, although I'd be just as happy with a floorless. I also think Cedar Point should get some giant Huss rides for this upcoming off season.

I too agree with Pete, I think it would definitly help Cedar Point by putting in a night life district, maybe not on the actual peninsula, but in the area before the causeway.

I think Cedar Point should lay off the coasters for a while (blasphemy!) and concentrate on dark rides, big spinners, etc. Seriously, I'd like to see something a little different.

I think Chief and Pete have the right idea. Not only would I like to see resort improvements, but I'd like to see different types of improvements inside the park as well. PKI has had success with dark and flat rides and I think Cedar Point would benefit as well.

I think a new restaurant would be nice, too. Something a little different from the current lineup. House of Blues is rumored to be coming to Cleveland. I think that something like that, on a seasonal basis, could be a good fit at Cedar Point ... mixing dinner with entertainment.

I wouldn't be disappointed if they didn't build #17 for a season or two - as long as they continued to make solid improvements elsewhere.

I agree with adding to Soak City. Have you seen rides such as Master Blaster? Wasn't there plans to build the worlds largest indoor water park in Sandusky? Why not CP!?

Coaster-wise, a true coaster nut knows what Cedar Point needs.........a classic out and back woodie ~ala~ Shivering Timbers.

Hey, who said a new Huss wouldn't do the trick (a big trick ;) ).

jeez, that thing looks like the kind of thing you'd see in a medievel torture chamber or at a sleezy fetish party on Insomniac(w/ Dave Attel)! a B+M Flyer is the way to go. just imagine it: a lift over a midway, all that's infront of you is the concrete 120 feet below, people walking underneath the lift (that might have to install a Splatter Sheild for the assholes who decide it's funny to spit at people on rides though). i also say Cedar Point should introduce their very first underground tunnel on a roller coaster.

a flyer would be nice, but i say bring back the Pirate Ride! (or at least the little arcade thing) that area is very bare and desolate looking.

I would also like them to add to Soak City. I get combo passes every year and would like to see a huge Eerie Falls or some other water slide.

correct me if i'm wrong here, but sandusky already has/had the worlds largest indoor water park in great bear lodge.

Well, I'm not talking about a strip joint! A great water side resort needs something like a beach/carribean themed bar with a dance floor and some party/Jimmy Buffett type music. I don't care if they put in a martini bar with a piano player performing Sinatra, anything to provide some entertainment for the "non-morning" people at the resort.
